Puppy Board and Train

Combine Structure and Freedom for Ultimate Obedience – 4 Week Board and Train

Our Puppy Board & Train program is designed to simplify the puppy stage while laying a strong foundation that lasts a lifetime. Ideal for puppies 4 months to 1 year old, this immersive program focuses on real-world obedience, proper structure, and solving common puppy challenges.

During their stay, we cover proper socialization, potty training, crate training, and effective management techniques. We address behaviors like mouthing and chewing, while building engagement using luring and reward-based communication. Puppies are introduced to leash skills, on and off leash obedience, and everyday manners such as polite greetings and door manners. We also incorporate desensitization and handling drills to build confidence and comfort in real-life situations such as at the vet or grooming salon.

Beyond training your puppy, we focus on educating you. You’ll receive in-depth guidance on how to continue training at home, avoid common mistakes, and maintain long-term success. The puppy board and train includes a training collar, dog cot, leash and lifetime unilimited access to both private and group classes. Our lifetime canine guarantee ensures you feel confident and supported through all live stages.

Private Puppy Classes

If you are a hands-on dog person and are interested in learning a skill to bring you closer to your pup, private lessons might be just the right option for you. You will work with our professional trainers one-on-one. This will allow us to get to know you and your dog, and we’ll develop a puppy program that best fits your style of learning. Ideal for older puppies 6 months-1 year and experienced dog owners. For families and those with limited time or experience, we suggest our puppy board and train for the best results.

Classes are typically 30 minutes long. This gives us plenty of time to review the previous week’s lesson and introduce new curriculum for the coming week’s session. From there, we’ll demonstrate new commands for you and your puppy to practice before the next week’s training session.

When you have completed your private dog training lessons, you and your dog may move on to our lifetime canine group training. Click the button below to schedule your FREE puppy consultation.

Group Dog and Puppy Obedience Classes

Many other companies will start their clients in group classes to optimize their profit margins. However, our professional opinion is that this is usually not the best environment for your dog to learn new behaviors. A group environment has far too many distractions for you or your pet.

This is why our clients and pupils graduate to group training. Group training can and does play an important role in your dog’s ongoing training and your puppy’s growth. Denver Puppy Training FAQs – What Every Dog Owner Should Know

When should I start training my puppy?

We recommend beginning puppy training lessons as early as 12 weeks old. Early training at this stage in development lays the foundation for a lifetime of good behavior, socialization, and obedience. Our Denver-based puppy programs are designed to guide your pup through each exciting stage of growth. By starting training early, bad habits are less likely to form, and good behaviors can be rewarded from the start. As dog trainers, we find that training a puppy from early puppyhood helps them with structure and routine that often make for a happier adult dog.

What type of puppy programs do you offer in Denver?

American Canine Academy offers a variety of training options perfect for you and your furry best friend:

  • Canine Immersion (Board and Train): An intensive program where your dog stays with our dog trainers to receive comprehensive obedience and behavioral training with one-on-one attention and fewer distractions. Most dogs start between4 to 6 months old, depending on their temperament and readiness for a structured environment.
  • Private Lessons: One-on-one dog and puppy training sessions focusing on specific goals you have for your pup, allowing for personalized attention.
  • Group Classes: Structured training classes that promote pet socialization and reinforce learned obedience skills in a controlled environment. A bonding opportunity for you and your dog!

Each dog and puppy program is created to address your dog’s unique temperament and training requirements. Our team of Denver’s best dog trainers can help you decide which one would fit your dog best.

What behaviors and skills will my puppy learn?

Our puppy programs cover a wide range of essential skills, including:

  • Foundational Obedience: Commands like come, sit, stay, down, place, and heel.
  • Behavioral Training: Addressing issues such as jumping, barking, and leash pulling, reactivity, aggression, separation anxiety.
  • Socialization: Allowing your puppy to get comfortable around other dogs and people.
  • Crate Training and Housebreaking: Establishing routines for a well-adjusted pet and a more peaceful life for you and your dog.

Our experienced dog trainers in Denver focus on creating a positive and effective learning environment for your puppy so that they can grow into the best dog possible! If you’ve been struggling with at-home training efforts for any of the above behaviors, let us show you puppy training that you and your puppy will both benefit from.

Can older puppies join your training programs?

Absolutely. While early training gives your puppy a head start, it’s never too late to begin. We work with dogs of all ages and behavioral backgrounds. Whether you’ve got a rambunctious adolescent or an adult dog with stubborn habits, our Denver training programs, including private training sessions, group classes, or board-and-train, are built to meet your dog where they are and help them move forward with structure, obedience, and confidence. Puppies will benefit from the training no matter their age. Plus, we find that most pet owners love the connection that training can bring, making their furry companion a playful sidekick rather than a destructive puppy.
